Scope. Design, fabrication and erection of a large tensile-roof steel canopy covering multi-use sports courts (basketball, football and athletics) at an active school compound.

Challenge. The canopy had to span a full multi-court field with no interior columns to block play, while staying lightweight enough to keep foundation loads within school grounds and being erected without interrupting the academic schedule.

Solution. ATUM engineered an arched tubular truss system with a tensile fabric membrane, pre-fabricated all primary trusses in the workshop, then mobilized a crane crew on weekends and after-hours to lift and bolt the structure in sequence — keeping the field usable between phases.

Scope. Plate rolling, full-penetration welding and dimensional control for a large-diameter hot-gas duct cone serving high-temperature service.

Challenge. Cone geometry had to mate exactly with both an existing DN 1200 stub and a DN 3660 refractory-lined duct. Distortion control during welding was critical — any out-of-roundness would force costly site modifications during refractory installation.

Solution. Cone segments were rolled, tack-fitted on a custom jig and welded sequentially to control shrinkage. WPS-qualified procedures were used throughout, with stage-wise dimensional inspection before release.
